Post #5: Latest news on legislation

The newspapper "The Guardian UK"reports: " Social security 'reforms' are a litany of welfare cuts" (Thursday 5 January 2012)

The  upper house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (House of Lords) announces  welfare curts. These reductions in social security benefits.
In this case, specifically decreases meal benefits of children  from poor families. The reform means that will reduce benefit for families to generate income above 26.000 pounds.
Therefore, this measure will hurt families generate incomes above that figure (26.000 pounds)  and have many children.
This meausure is part of a series of policy decisions that aim to boost the flagging Brithish economy.
The measure is contrary to the traditional  approach of English social security: "since the days of the parish loaf, the basic idea has been ensuring every hungry mouth gets fed", wich has a great concern for the rigths of children and their proper development.
The reform proyect  involves granting benefits only to children whose families have incomes not exceeding of £26,000. For some conservative politician, such as George Osborne (finance Minister of UK), the only benefit  justifiable  is the salary and nothing more.
However, in the Labour Party are politicians who want to improve the bill.
Some argue tha this  measure will slow the birth rate, which  in the long run economic growth slows a country.

First, I must say that in general I love to write and comment on topics of interest to me because I consider myself an open person, sociable and communicative (which does not mean it is a kind of showgirl or jester with a Greek mask of happiness)For this feature, I must say I loved meeting the writing activity on various Temne in a blog and share with my colleagues our experiences, preferences and perceptions. Unfortunately time is short and the only thing that makes the blog review on an ongoing basis.

Secondly I think this activity helped greatly to improve my English writing, however I still "a long way to go." There are many verbs and words I know, there are also many spelling and grammar to learn and apply.

Third, I think the advantage of a blog as an activity of learning English, is just to improve the expression and understanding of written English, and it's a way to meet classmates.

Fourth, the great disadvantage of the blog, is that no one ever has the time, or rather, does the house voluntarily take the time to focus properly.

Finally, I thank the teacher for help in learning English and my classmates  for their opinions and experiences share in this blog.

Session 9: my favourite subjet

Well, generally everything that interests me relates to the "social rights" and equality.
The law has several subject areas. In the midst of this dispersion was a little difficult to be interested in a particular area. At the end of the race I discovered that my favorite subject is labor law, it is precisely an area of law whose purposeis to establish principles and rules that ensure the protection of the worker, the contractor who is weak against the employer in the contractual employment relationship.

The funny thing is that at the beginning of my career law did not interest memuch. In those years, I really liked was everything related to teaching andpedagogy. Fortunately, today, I managed to join the initial interest in education with labor law, as I have been in law teaching career working in technical,  so I'm updating my permanently knowledge on the subject. Labor law is a branch whoserules are changed frequently, and even recently (in 2008) there was a procedural reform, that is, a profound change in all matters relating to labor cases, creating new institutions and rights. However, there are still many outstanding issues to regulate.

If you like seafood, this is the best place to eat them. In this place, the system of consumption is "fork" free or open, where you pay a fee and you can eat unlimited cold dishes that are located at the center of the restaurant. Also the waiter runs every half hour offering hot meals.
I remember going to this place for Mother's Day of 2008 .  On that unforgettable day i eat to much fish ceviche (corvina), picorocos,  salad of  mussels, clams parmesan, crab cake, baked fish (lenguado) with coriander sauce, seafood ravioli, potato chips, meat the sword, all accompanied by red and white varietal wines.
The only regrettable thing was that my mom does not eat seafood, but she just enjoyed the celebration, eating meat and one of the amazing desserts that were  placed in a great showcase glass.
Unforgettable.
I recommend it anyway.
To go to eat at this restaurant, you make a reservation in advance.

Finally, the price of consumption per person is quite adequate (about  $16 USD)
Adresses: This restaurant has three branches: one in downtown Santiago, one in Providencia and one in Viña del Mar.

Session 7. This photograph...

...was taken by my dad in 1982 in the summer of 1982, in Viña del Mar.
At that time, when I went on vacation during the d ay used to go to the beach at night with my parents and uncles went out to walk to downtownOne night we went to a traveling children's amusement park and I remember that after insisting for a long time with my parents, they listened to me and they paid the ticket to get on the bike alone. So great was my joy, my smiling face shows it.

I think the happiest moments (like this) are short. The motorcycle spun for 4 minutes and then it was over.

Session 6. My most embarrasing moment

The worst thing that ever happened to me  was  in1989.
In that year,I went to study at my new school, "High school 1Javiera Carrera". One day, when I returned to my house, I greeted my dad with a kiss on the mouth and he has eaten (as a joke), very spicy chili.

I immediately felt the spiciness and desperately ran to put my head in the freezer and accidentally stuck my lips.

My mother, frightened and desperate, quickly took my hair and pulled my head out of the freezer and my lips were literally stuck in the ice.
Finally, my mom took off from freezer safe and sound, though my lips skinned and bleeding

Session 5: my favourite piece of technology

Well, my favourite pice of technology is anything that serve for listening music, us a: walkman, radio recorder, netbook. Therefore, I has have tuis pieces in different moments of my life.
These days, I listen to music in my netbook every days, many hours until the nigth.
I like listen to music         as breathing!                                                                                                                                                                         Whitout my  netbook and my music, I´m NOTHING...
